Dear John,
Have you seen the news? Yesterday the state of Minnesota kicked-off a 30-day comment period - a chance for those that care about the fate of this priceless wilderness to weigh in on Minnesota’s outdated mining rules that fail to protect the Boundary Waters.
You probably also know that we are currently in a 90-day comment period at the federal level regarding the Biden administration’s proposal to ban copper mining on federal public lands in the Boundary Waters watershed.

This means that there are currently TWO comment periods happening RIGHT NOW that could protect the Boundary Waters from sulfide-ore copper mining - one at the state level and one at the federal level! Raise your voice and take BOTH actions for the Boundary Waters during these comment periods.

Comment periods allow people who care about an issue, as well as experts, to share their input with government agencies as they make decisions on important policies. In other words, they provide the public with a chance to have their voices heard in public processes.
We’ve made it very easy to submit both comments at the same time here! Plus, you can comment on both even if you don’t live in Minnesota.
