Last month, every Senate Republican voted against the Freedom to Vote Act, blocking debate on a bill designed to strengthen our democracy, protect the right to vote, and restore faith in our elections.

The stakes are too high for President Biden and Senate Democrats to let this setback deter them. They must follow through on their commitments to voting rights. We simply can’t allow the archaic filibuster to stop us from saving our democracy.

Write to your senators and urge them to end the filibuster and protect our right to vote by passing the Freedom to Vote Act.

After earlier attempts to reach a deal with the GOP, Sen. Joe Manchin was asked to find 10 Republicans to support the Freedom to Vote Act, a new common-sense compromise. He was unable to convince a single one.

Mitch McConnell and the Republican caucus have made it clear that they have no intention to support any measure that safeguards our fundamental right to vote. 

Right now, Republican-controlled state legislatures are working to pass gerrymandered congressional districts and implement new restrictions on voting. Senate Democrats are wasting valuable time by letting the filibuster block urgent reforms that would fight back against these right-wing voter suppression schemes. We must act before it’s too late.
