Hi there -
Last month, it was reported that Iran is bracing for a sixth major wave of COVID-19. This is devastating news, especially as Iranian citizens continue to live under “maximum pressure” sanctions that make it even harder to receive medical aid and supplies.
There is so much work to do to ensure U.S. sanctions aren’t perpetuating the COVID-19 crisis inside Iran -- that's why we have a goal of raising $75,000 this month. From advocating in the halls of Congress to having a seat at the table with the Biden administration, NIAC is part of the solution in ending the humanitarian crisis in Iran. Lifting up our voice requires investment from supporters like you. Can we count on you to help us start off strong?
CHIP IN
During the pandemic, sanctions have played an outsized role in this crisis, making it harder for Iranians to receive vaccines. Since the very beginning, sanctions prevented Iran from importing COVID-19 testing kits from the WHO due to shipping restrictions.
And now, almost two years into the pandemic, it’s clear that sanctions played a role in preventing Iran from paying for vaccines right when Iranians needed them the most.
This is unjust. What's even more painful is that it can be prevented. We’ve been advocating non-stop for changes to sanctions that would mean Iranians don’t feel the impact of this geopolitical conflict. Can you chip in to help us reach 75k?
Thanks for all you do --
Jamal Abdi
President, NIAC
