Join us online or in Austin for the 10th annual Dancing Away Detention

Hey John,

Join us this Friday for our 10th Dancing Away Detention, our annual fundraiser supporting our Community Bond Fund. Every year, we come together for a night of music, solidarity, and community as we raise funds to free people from detention and support the efforts to shut down the notorious, why-is-it-still-open T. Don Hutto Detention Center.

Whether it's bonding out a mother so she can be reunited with her child, supporting a hunger strike leader facing solitary confinement, or setting a sexual assault survivor free from her abusive guard's reach, we're raising money to respond in these moments of crisis. Join us!

Our musical guest for the night is Austin-based singer and longtime Grassroots Leadership volunteer Stellar, who will be releasing their debut solo album, RAINBOW SHADOWS with us as we celebrate our community's resilience.

If you're not able to join us in person, you can still take part by purchasing an online concert ticket for Stellar's performance or by purchasing solidarity tickets for other members of the community.

So bring a friend, come have fun, and help out a good cause! Masks are strongly encouraged.

Most days, we fight—but this night, we dance. See you there?

🎺 Our musical guests for the night are Stellar and DJ Pinche Juan (AKA Claudia Aparicio)!

🫀Meet the members of Mujeres Luchadoras, a group of formerly detained women from T. Don Hutto fighting to shut down Hutto and reunite more families like their own.

📅 Invite your friends and stay up to date by following our event on Facebook for more details on venue, food, and musical acts.

✊🏽 Can’t attend but still want to contribute? Help cover the cost of someone else’s ticket by purchasing a solidarity ticket.

In solidarity always,

 Maria Reza

PS: If you’re interested in attending but can’t pay the cost, message me ([email protected]) for solidarity tickets—no one will be turned away for financial reasons.
