Rep. Paul Gosar posted an animated video yesterday in which he is depicted killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and swinging swords at President Joe Biden.
Gosar is a Trumpist zealot who has exalted the January 6 insurrectionists and appeared at a fundraiser for a white supremacist group.
Several of Gosar’s siblings have spoken out about how unfit he is to hold elected office, with one brother saying: “Paul has no character, no integrity, no honor, and is absolutely close as you get to a pathological liar.”
As many have noted, at any other workplace in America, an employee who posted a video depicting himself killing a coworker would almost certainly be fired.
- Rep. Adam Schiff stated that Gosar “has no business being in Congress.”
- Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is urging Rep. Kevin McCarthy, the top Republican in the House, to “call on the Ethics Committee and law enforcement to investigate.”
- A senior staffer for Gosar tried to dismiss the justified outrage over the video by claiming the left has “no joy” — as if we should find joy in fantasies of political violence.
Let’s be clear about this:
The issue is not that Gosar’s video is tasteless or a bad joke. It’s that we have a nascent fascist movement in this country, which is increasingly experimenting with and condoning political violence (see January 6).
We’re long past the point where this stuff can be brushed off as fringe. Every move toward normalizing political violence must be confronted.
Right-wing politicians must be held accountable for their murderous rhetoric and fantasies, which have already led to death threats and actual violence.
Tell Congress:
Rep. Gosar must face severe consequences for his patently inappropriate and dangerous behavior toward a House colleague. He should be investigated and, if warranted, removed from office.

Thanks for taking action.
