Josh Stein for Attorney General

Friend,

Josh is working hard to hold bad actors accountable and safeguard the air we breathe and the water we drink. Will you chip in today to support his work to protect North Carolina’s natural resources?

Last week, Josh and his office filed four lawsuits against 14 manufacturers of a fire suppressant used widely by firefighters, military service members, and other first responders. Firefighting foam contains toxic PFAS chemicals — forever chemical compounds that seep into our soil, get into our groundwater, and can cause severe health risks.

PFAS contamination is most often associated with military bases, firefighting training centers, civilian airports, and industrial facilities. These companies failed to warn first responders of the risks or how to properly handle it, leading to groundwater contamination at four sites across the state.

Folks, just about every American has some PFAS in their blood, but North Carolina has the third-highest rate of PFAS exposure in the country. These companies are lining their own pockets at the expense of our health. That’s unacceptable.

As North Carolina’s Attorney General, Josh is fighting to protect our health and natural resources, but we need to do more to protect folks from these dangerous chemicals. So we’re asking:

Can you chip in and show your support for Josh’s work to protect our first responders and ensure every person has access to clean drinking water? Any amount you can pitch in today will make a difference.

Thank you for your continued support on this critical issue.
