We need your support — and you’ve already shown us that Survival supporters don’t back down from a challenge.
Baita and Tamandua, uncle and nephew, are two of the last surviving members of the Amazon’s uncontacted Piripkura tribe. They've survived a series of massacres that have brought their people to the edge of extinction.
In September, the Land Protection Order that shielded Tamandua and Baita’s indigenous territory was set to expire. This would have opened up 600,000 acres of forest to complete destruction by loggers and ranchers, putting the lives of the last Piripkura at risk.
Many uncontacted tribes such as the Piripkura are especially vulnerable to land theft, as their territories are not officially mapped out and protected. You fought alongside the Piripkura to defend their land and lives — and succeeded!
But this important victory is just the first step.
The Land Protection Order has only been renewed for the next 6 months. After that the Piripkura’s land will be under threat again. We need your support to continue the fight for the survival of the Piripkura and all uncontacted tribes around the world.
