Wisconsin Republicans would rather make children work than pay adults a living wage
Team,
Wisconsin Republicans are failing working people. They refuse to pass a living wage, and have sided with companies intent on keeping unfair working conditions in place.
Workers have had enough. They’re quitting jobs to find ones that treat them with respect, or they’re striking against companies that have abused them for too long.
The GOP’s response? Increase child labor. The Wisconsin Senate just approved a bill that expands the working day for minors, allowing 14-15 year-olds to work until 11pm on non-school nights.
Forcing teenagers to work longer hours while they juggle school (and puberty) is not going to solve our labor issues. Instead of fighting against workers, the GOP should be fighting for them, and creating a future where everyone has good-paying jobs.
It’s time for a new kind of leadership in Wisconsin. Gillian built her career on integrity, advocacy, and action, and she’s ready to put that skill set to work in the U.S. Senate! It's going to take all of us working together to defeat Ron Johnson to get her there, but if you'd like to receive fewer emails, we understand.
