# [#] Unfortunately, many Philadelphia residents have been impacted by the gun violence epidemic in our city. I am committed to creating new solutions to decrease incidents of gun violence in our city.
John, gun violence impacts all of us, and it will take community grassroots efforts to combat this crisis.
Last month, Council began disbursing funds to local community groups through our city’s new Anti-Violence Community Partnership. With this partnership, we have allocated $22 million to go towards community groups who are working on the ground to prevent violence in our city.
Additionally, we recently held a meeting in our community where Philadelphia residents had the opportunity to share their concerns and offer possible solutions to combat our city’s gun violence crisis.
With our new Anti-Violence Community Partnership and ongoing community conversations, it’s important to remember that we must continue our open dialogue between residents and local government officials to solve Philadelphia’s violence crisis.
I’m ready to continue my work on Council to fight against gun violence. Will you sign my petition to show your support for anti-violence initiatives in Philadelphia? [[link removed]]
