** Introducing Life Beyond Borders: Oral Histories
------------------------------------------------------------
[link removed] stories of people who society labels as “criminals” are seldom heard, and when they are, it is often with strategic outcomes in mind, like earning parole, clemency, or relief from deportation.
Today, IDP introduces Life Beyond Borders: Oral Histories ([link removed]) , a space where people impacted by mass incarceration and deportation can share their stories in their own words.
Life Beyond Borders features 11 people including Colin Absalom. Incarcerated for 25 years, Colin earned parole, but was transferred to ICE custody. He was released from detention only after receiving a rare pardon from Governor Cuomo.
