Friend -- Republican challengers are lining up to take me on.

That's right: "Challengers" with an "s."

That means we're not just up against dark money anymore. We're also up against Republicans hand-picked by GOP leadership -- and they're using the same Republican machine to raise money from small-dollar donors that Trump did in 2020.

The race is officially on, and we can't afford to fall behind. So I'm humbly asking: Will you chip in to this campaign before our upcoming deadline on Friday?

I haven't talked much about our opposition, and for a simple reason: I believe it's more important to talk about what we're for than what we're against. Especially when there's so much work to do in Congress.

There are plenty of politicians who are more focused on getting reelected than on doing what they ran for office to do. That's not me. Every day I'm in Washington, I'm denouncing dark money, curbing the influence of the gun lobby, calling for real solutions to the climate crisis, and bringing people of different political persuasions together to find a way forward.

But if I don't worry about reelection at all? That's just asking the GOP to flip this seat. So I hope you understand that when I ask you to contribute to these fundraising drives, it's because it really matters.

So today, I'm humbly asking: Will you contribute $20 or another amount before our Friday fundraising deadline?

Thanks for having my back,

Dean
