Today we’re going to take a step back and tell you about what we do here at Truth to Power.
Truth to Power is about a year and a half old. We were founded in 2020 by Congresswoman Katie Porter to support progressive Democrats running for Congress. Our first round of endorsements included people like Ben Ray Luján, Jaamal Bowman, and other folks who are now standing up for working families in Washington. We have a few guiding principles that we look at to select our endorsed candidates:
🏭 Candidates who will stand up to corporate special interests, lobbyists, and corrupt politicians who have dominated our government for far too long.
🌱 Leaders who will be independent voices for change and will fight to reform our political system and economy.
🗳️ Folks who share a commitment to equal rights for all, political and economic reform, a woman’s right to choose, gun violence prevention, and concrete action to fight climate change.
We’re a PAC, but that doesn’t mean we take money from corporations or lobbyists. We’re grassroots funded and are here to support candidates that will shake up our politics as usual, and to stand up against corporate interests and corruption.
