Last week, the House of Representatives passed a truly historic infrastructure bill. I was so proud to join my colleagues in voting for this transformative bill that will bring good jobs, safer roads and bridges, and clean water — among so many other provisions — to families and workers on Long Island and across the nation.
This legislation will support Long Island’s economic recovery by creating good-paying jobs and broadband internet for those still struggling with the fallout of the pandemic. I am especially excited that the bill includes significant investments in clean water infrastructure, which will be transformative for Long Islanders who face water contamination daily.
This is landmark legislation delivered by Democrats and President Biden, but it’s just the beginning of our agenda. That’s why we absolutely cannot afford to lose control of the House next year — there’s simply too much work left to do. Republicans only need to flip five seats to take back the House majority, and they’ve already targeted my seat as one they think they can take.
We must keep Democrats in the House majority so that we can continue our work to help Long Islanders and all Americans. Will you contribute to my re-election campaign today to ensure I have the resources to stay in Congress?
