I’ll start with the bad news: In a handful of states, Republicans have either passed or are on the verge of passing highly manipulated maps that are designed to lock in Republican majorities:

In North Carolina, Republicans just passed maps that A.G. Holder said “are heavily manipulated in favor of their party.”

In Ohio, Republicans have released maps that could give them 87% of seats in Congress, despite Trump only receiving 54% of the votes in 2020.

In Texas, Republicans’ new maps added majority-white districts -- even though communities of color drove 95% of the state’s rapid population growth!

Now here’s the good news: The NDRC is fighting back in more than a dozen battleground states, and we’re using all the tools at our disposal. We’re analyzing map proposals as they’re published, shining a light on officials who are manipulating redistricting for partisan gain, and mobilizing our grassroots supporters in favor of maps that fairly represent our communities.

Plus, we’re supporting voters who are defending fair maps in court in states like Oregon!
