His Latin Grammy nominated song “Patria y Vida” is an emotional tribute to his Cuban heritage and served as an inspiring plea for liberty during the 2021 Cuban protest movement.

Born in Havana, Yotuel creates a masterful blend of poetic rap and Afro-Cuban rhythms and will be releasing his second solo album in 2021. He has contributed to a number of various music projects and has collaborated with artists such as Ricky Martin, X Alfonso, Descemer Bueno, Gente de Zona, Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara, Maykel Osorbo, and DJ El Funky.

“Patria y Vida” is an inversion of the Cuban Revolution motto Patria o Muerte and has exploded in popularity to become an anthem for peace and freedom around the world.
