Mark Your Calendars for Giving Tuesday!
Support Glacier This Year on November 30

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, November 30! Giving Tuesday is
just three weeks away. For this Giving Tuesday, we are asking our
community to support dark sky initiatives throughout the park.
Your donations to this project will help the park maintain
its long-term commitment to preserving dark skies by funding
onsite astronomy volunteers and interns, astronomy education
programs, astronomy events, and the operation of Glacier’s new
Dusty Star Observatory – home to the largest scientific telescope
in the National Park Service.

Thanks to a generous donor, your gift this Giving Tuesday will be
matched – dollar for dollar – up to $25,000! Mark your calendars
for November 30, or donate today by giving online!

New Internship Program Focuses on Conservation In Glacier &
Community

This year, we teamed up with Glacier’s Education Program and
Whitefish School District to offer a new internship program
focused on conservation for students in our community. Your
donations to the Conservancy through last year’s Great Fish
Community Challenge supported an annual internship program for 7
students from Whitefish Schools to work alongside Glacier’s
Education staff.

Owl Research Underway Thanks to 2019 Giving Tuesday Donors

For Giving Tuesday in 2019, donors to the Glacier Conservancy
rose to the occasion to support great gray and boreal owl
research, furthering the park’s goals to learn more about these
valuable species. Due to COVID-19 restrictions in 2020, park
staff had to completely cancel the project last year. Finally, in
April 2021, they were able to begin owl surveys in Glacier
National Park.
