Cori has promised to accept nothing less than bold, progressive change that will meet this moment and save lives.
John,
Last November, St. Louis elected Cori to Congress to make good trouble and work to bring transformative change to our community. And that's exactly what she did on Friday.
Since day one, Cori has promised to stand up for St. Louis and legislate to save lives. That's why she's been working tirelessly to pass both the Build Back Better Act and infrastructure bill because St. Louis deserves the President's full agenda, not just "crumbs."
But after lengthy negotiations and a months-long agreement that both bills would move together, conservative Democrats were successful in bringing only the infrastructure bill up for a vote. Cori made us proud and voted no on the infrastructure bill in order to keep the pressure up for passing the Build Back Better Act, keeping her promise to serve her constituents — because St. Louis deserves both.
John, Cori put herself on the line with this vote — and has faced attacks from the far-right and members of her party. Please, will you chip in $5 or anything you can to have her back?
Chip in $5
This wasn't an easy vote, but Cori stood by the promise she made to all of us. For months, Cori had been clear that Congress needed to pass both bills, and she was not willing to give up negotiating power on health care, our children, and the future of our environment for a narrow infrastructure bill.
Now that the infrastructure bill has passed, it's due time to bring the Build Back Better Act for a vote. Cori will continue to work to ensure the final Build Back Better Act includes critical investments in community violence prevention, affordable housing, and support for child care and eldercare workers.
Cori didn't come to Congress to do anything less than the absolute most for St. Louis. If you're with Cori in this movement for real change, will you chip in $5 or anything you can to show your support of her leadership and keep up the pressure to pass the Build Back Better Act?
Together,
Team Cori
