I’m extremely proud to announce that my cousin, Briana Sewell, was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates 51st District seat!

Throughout her campaign, Briana spoke out on issues that matter to Virginians like more public school funding, increasing paid family, sick and medical leave, and defending reproductive rights -- issues that are close to my heart as well.

Briana’s win signals the importance of Democrats running strong races up and down the ballot. Black women across the nation are stepping up to take their seat at the table, and carrying the baton in the fight for progress.

I’m extremely proud of Briana, and can’t wait to see all the good work she does for Virginians.
