With 2022 rapidly approaching, today marks the launch of People For’s early membership renewal campaign – and we’re asking for your support.
Next year will be a critical one for the very existence of our democracy, and People For is uniquely positioned to make a huge difference in this fight.

The “Big Lie” about the 2020 election and other conspiracy theories continue to fuel insurrectionist sentiment, far-right attempts to rig elections threaten to unravel our democracy and the right to vote, and the Right has seen that – unless they are held accountable, exposed, and thoroughly disrupted – their reliance on lies and bigotry (in addition to voter suppression) in their political campaigns can pay off.
The Far Right is now more radicalized and energized than ever before and they are trying to seize power at every level – even running extremist candidates to take control of your local school board.

2021 has been a tough year – we get it. Getting rid of Trump didn’t magically solve all of our problems, and far-right Republicans – especially in the Senate, under the leadership of Mitch McConnell – have stymied the vital reforms that Americans overwhelmingly voted for in 2020. And yes, they’ve done it primarily by abusing the Senate filibuster – a relic of the Jim Crow era – and Democrats’ failure to unify in the way that Republicans have is in part to blame.
This makes our challenges heading into 2022 all the greater. We not only need to disrupt the Far Right, we need to reinvigorate our voters and win over independents in a political landscape that has been rocked by the COVID-19 pandemic and the cult-like alternate reality that has taken root on the Right from the bitter ashes of Trump’s defeat last year.
