Every day, AFSCME members serve our communities, whether we’re driving kids to school, caring for our most vulnerable, keeping our streets safe or any of the thousands of jobs we do that put others first.

So it’s no surprise that AFSCME members from all over the country have also served in every branch of the armed forces. On Veterans Day, we recognize their incredible dedication, selflessness and sacrifice. I come from a military family myself, and I remember the pride we all felt when my older brother Emmett was in Vietnam.
