The fight to improve Kentucky's public schools has always been personal to me, John.

Before serving as Lieutenant Governor, I was an educator and worked as assistant principal at Nelson County High School in Bardstown. I know firsthand how important it is that every child in Kentucky can receive a quality education, and just what our teachers and school districts need to provide that.

That's why I've been proud to work alongside Andy and ensure that improving our public schools remains one of our top priorities. We've already made great progress for students across the Commonwealth. Here are just some of our accomplishments so far:

- Reorganized the state board of education and appointed new members who support public education,
- Waived testing fees for all first time GED takers,
- Introduced an "education first" budget proposal that increases education spending by $400 million and includes much-deserved raises for our teachers,
- Developed the Commonwealth Education Continuum to help students through transition points in their education.

We've accomplished a lot so far, but there's still more work to be done. From cutting down class sizes to reducing excessive testing and expanding medical and mental health support for our students, Andy and I will continue to work to make our public schools the best they can be.

I'm incredibly honored to be a part of an administration that prioritizes our children's futures, and I'm grateful to have you on our side.

Thank you,

Jacqueline
Lieutenant Governor
