Dear Friend,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. As you already know, climate change is rapidly worsening within the U.S. and our district, leading to enormous costs in our community, our homes, and human life. We all witnessed the devastating impact of Hurricane Ida and understand it will not be the last storm we face. Our district must remain vigilant, prepared, and proactive towards building a more resilient community to stand against future disasters. Today, I am proud to announce a collaborative effort with the Red Cross to introduce a new program, the Enhanced Community Harmonization Opportunity (ECHO), designed to both strengthen our infrastructure and empower Brooklyn with necessary tools for when the next disaster strikes.

On Tuesday, November 9, 2021, from 6:30 PM, I will join Mary J. Barneby, CEO of Red Cross New York Region, for a conversation built around resiliency and readiness. Please, join us for this virtual event as we discuss the importance of protecting our homes, our businesses, and community institutions, as well as the need to equip our community with the resources to weather any storm.
