Dear Friend,

As global discussions are happening at COP26 in Glasgow, the urgency for the state to meet the climate goals of the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act must be the highest priority. It’s been nine years since New York experienced the devastation that Superstorm Sandy left behind, and with the most recent Tropical Storm Ida, it is abundantly clear that climate change is not some future problem to deal with down the line. The time to take urgent action is now. That means it’s time for New York State’s leaders to prioritize climate justice now. Join us to march from Times Square to the Governor's Manhattan office on Saturday, November 13, at 12pm.

The climate crisis impacts every aspect of our lives, deepening racial, gender, and socioeconomic injustices. When we fight for climate justice, we fight against disparities in health, education, transportation, housing, and more. When we fight for climate justice, we are fighting to save countless lives.

On Saturday, November 13, join us to call on Governor Hochul and the New York State Legislature to deliver climate justice, and lead the nation by including the funding necessary to provide a just transition to a renewable energy economy for the people of New York. Alongside our NY Renews partners and other allies, we’ll march to demand that New York equitably and swiftly implement the state’s climate law, the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), and fully fund it by passing the Climate and Community Investment Act (CCIA).

Sign up to join us on Saturday, November 13, at 12pm in Manhattan! We hope to see you there. If you cant make it and want to support this work, donate to our work.

In solidarity,

Maritza Silva-Farrell
