A 2-DAY COMMENT PERIOD?! Let's Fight Back.

Dear Allies,

Yesterday, the Department of State announced a comment period on the Presidential proclamation requiring some immigrants to have health insurance coverage. DOS is requesting emergency review of a form to implement the proclamation which is scheduled to go into effect on November 3, 2019. The comment period opened this morning, October 30th, and closes on Thursday, October 31st. Yes, you read that right: it is a 2-day comment period.

Given the very tight turn-around, PIF is organizing a sign-on comment that will be submitted in response. National, state and local organizations are invited to join this comment letter. Sign-ons must be received no later than 12pm ET on Thursday, October 31.

Read the comment letter here. Sign your organization on by completing this form linked below.

Important: You may remember that PIF was organizing a letter to President Trump urging him to rescind the proclamation. This comment replaces the sign-on letter. The content in both are very similar. Given the extremely short comment period, we made the decision that submitting a formal comment was important and can make an equally strong statement.

If your organization signed-on to the letter to President Trump, you do not need to resign this comment. If your organization signed-on to the letter to President Trump and you do not wish to be listed on this comment to Department of State, please email PIF consultant, Lena O’Rourke ([email protected]) before 12pm ET on Thursday, October 31.

Thank you for your continued partnership!
