Dear John,
Help put the brakes on parliamentary
plotting.
The Police, Crime, Courts and
Sentencing bill is still making its way through the House of
Lords.
The bill has passed through the Commons but the worst provisions
remain. It will still criminalise ‘noisy’ protest and will facilitate
the increasing censorship of free speech.
That’s where you come
in.
Using our simple tool, you can put
together a quick email which will clearly state to the Lords which
amendments we are looking to see them add to the bill. If a consensus
is then reached in the Lords, they can then send the amended bill back
to the Commons for consideration.
I must stress that we can only do
this with your good work. The more messages the Lords receive, the
more we can hope to shape the debate and the nature of the amendments
that are put forward.
