Friends --

If you’re getting booed by the same crowd that’s cheering for Donald
Trump, Ted Cruz, Mike Pompeo and Ron DeSantis, you’re probably doing
something right.

So when Trump’s former UN Ambassador, Nikki Haley, started her speech to
the Republican Jewish Coalition on Saturday by slamming J Street, I’m
proud to tell you we got the same ‘enthusiastic’ response as mentions of
Barack Obama, Vice President Kamala Harris and President Biden.

“J Street, what’s up with them?” Haley riffed. “Supposedly they claim to
be a pro-Israel organization? I will never understand that.”

And look, Haley is right. She will never understand us.

Because if you view the ‘right’ kind of pro-Israel American Jews as being
far-right mega-donors, or settlement-movement champions like Jared
Kushner, or pro-Trump cheer-squads like the RJC, then those of us who are
actually fighting for our values of justice, equality, democracy and peace
must be utterly beyond comprehension.

$18
-- or any other amount -- to support the kind of pro-Israel, pro-peace
anti-occupation work that Nikki Haley just doesn’t get? Together, we can
show that “what’s up” with J Street is we’re fighting unapologetically for
the values of the overwhelming majority of Jewish American voters.

Because here’s the truth: Championing settlements, annexation and endless
occupation isn’t just empowering the Israeli right, undermining American
leadership and trampling Palestinian rights -- it’s also threatening the
very future of Israel as a just, peaceful, democratic homeland for the
Jewish people. And that’s the Israel we’re fighting for.

We might have no hope of getting through to folks like Ambassador Haley --
especially when the person whose approval they crave the most is Donald
Trump -- but that’s not going to stop us from working in Washington and
around the country to make clear that right-wing groups like the RJC don’t
speak for the majority of our community.

The majority of us want our leaders to stand consistently for our values,
to push back against settlements and occupation, and to pursue a vision of
Israeli-Palestinian peace rooted in our shared values of justice, equality
and freedom. [ [link removed] ]Please consider a donation of

J Street is the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans who want
Israel to be secure, democratic and the national home of the Jewish people.
Working in American politics and the Jewish community, we advocate policies that
advance shared US and Israeli interests as well as Jewish and democratic values,
leading to a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
