Hello Friend,
Few places were hit by the pandemic as hard as Nevada, but thankfully the American Rescue Plan extended a lifeline to our great state, with provisions like the Child Tax Credit that helped families put food on the table and stay in their homes as well as aid that went to small businesses helping them to stay afloat.
However, as families have continued to tread water, we’ve watched the wealth of billionaires and big corporations rake in record profits while paying next to nothing in taxes, serving only to widen the income inequality gap. And THIS is why the Build Back Better Plan is so important. When sharing why she’s fighting to get it passed, Senator Catherine Cortez Masto said, “Working families deserve a break.” Speaking to the need for investments in cleaner energy, which would create good-paying and sustainable jobs, Congresswoman Susie Lee said, “We must continue to fight to ensure that our state has the infrastructure it needs to minimize the effects of climate change.”
And the best part? This can all be done without raising the deficit by making the wealthiest among us finally pay their fair share.
And that’s why, on TUESDAY, November 9th, BOTH of these champions will be joining us at 1:00pm for a lunchtime Tele-Town Hall! This is your opportunity to ask Senator Cortez Masto and Congresswoman Lee what the Build Back Better Plan contains, what all (or any) of it means to YOU personally, and why you should care. So, you don’t have to take my word for it; you can ask them for yourself!
They’ll also be talking about how the bill works to create sustainable, good-paying jobs, and what YOU can do to help make it happen.
To join us, use your phone to dial (877) 461-4870 at 12:50pm, and you’ll be on the line when we begin at 1. From there, all you have to do is raise your hand by pressing the number 0, and when it’s your turn, ask your question!
Senator Cortez Masto and Congresswoman Lee want to hear from you, so please join us on Tuesday, November 9th at the number above.
We hope you’ll join us,
