Friend --

This past Friday was a busy one for members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The good news is they did not end up passing President Biden's "Build Back Better" legislation. However, they did manage to adopt the procedural "rule" for the massive bill.? ?What does that mean? In a nutshell, it means that the House can now bring up the legislation whenever they feel they have the votes, and that no new amendments can be added to the legislation. ?So pro-liberty legislators in the House can no longer attempt to remove the billions of dollars allocated in the bill for "community violence intervention (CVI) programs via the amendment process.?If you aren't comfortable with your money being allocated in this manner, please reach out to your federal legislators TODAY as this bill could be voted on whenever Nancy Pelosi feels she has the votes!

No Build Back Better B.S.

As a reminder, H.R. 5376, better known as the president's Build Back Better legislation, is a social spending package that has billions of dollars set to be allocated towards the CVI programs we have been warning you about for some time now. Again, that's BILLIONS of dollars over the next few years towards programs that are not clearly defined and could end up in the hands of gun control proponents! ?Starting in the fiscal year 2022, over $150,000,000 will be allocated towards CVI programs should this poorly constructed bill pass. ?That number INCREASES every year until plateauing at $550,000,000 in funding for fiscal years 2025, 2026, and 2027. This isn't chump change. And while "community violence intervention" sounds harmless, what are the odds that these funds are used for gun control initiatives? Depending on where you live, I would wager the odds are unfortunately pretty high.

Tell your U.S. Representative and your U.S. Senators to OPPOSE H.R. 5376 by clicking one of the red "No Build Back Better B.S." buttons in this email. ?FPC has a convenient constituent outreach tool that allows you to directly message your specific legislators. ?We have drafted a sample email for you to review, edit and personalize prior to sending it off to your elected officials.

No Build Back Better B.S.

I thank each and every FPC supporter who has taken action already on this legislative priority, and those who plan to take action via this email.?We have no time to waste as this bill is currently under review. We must rise to the occasion and put on a pressure campaign that will garner the attention of legislators who are currently nervous about their political futures. Even if you think your U.S. Representative is against this legislative push, follow up with them. ?I don't think many people would have thought 13 GOP members in the House and 19 in the U.S. Senate would have voted for the infrastructure bill, but they did. That's why it's always good to reinforce your position even with those you'd normally consider to be allies in the gun rights fight. I encourage you to share this email with like-minded supporters of freedom. With a concerted effort, we will make the needed impact! Don't miss this chance to reach out to your legislators prior to their vote! Time is of the?essence!

Yours in Liberty,
