Last week we got bad news out of Virginia: Democrat candidate for Governor Terry McAuliffe lost to the Trump-endorsed Republican candidate, Glenn Youngkin.
Political pundits had their day making predictions about what these results might mean for the future, and what they had to say might have made some folks feel pretty blue. But there's something important to remember in times like these: don't agonize, organize.

Let’s be clear: it wasn’t all bad news last Tuesday. For starters, the race in Virginia was extremely close: a few thousand votes here and there would have made the night end very differently.
Plus, Democrats had tremendous victories in other elections across the country: from Boston to New Hampshire to New Jersey and even in our neck of the woods! We still have time to deliver victories in the midterms, even if we may face some headwinds -- but we need to organize now.
