Robert Reich understands what's at stake for the future of democracy in America if members of Congress can plan an insurrection and face no consequences for doing so.
John, please read Robert's message below and then add your name to make sure that members of Congress that incited and planned the January 6th attack on the United States Capitol are held accountable. - The DFA Team
John,
The Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol is probing allegations that numerous members of Congress were deeply involved with planning the January 6th insurrection.(1)
The picture is getting clearer.
Not only did multiple Republican Members of Congress vote to overturn the election results, many of them also planned and incited a deadly insurrection against the U.S. government.
Join DFA and me as we demand the removal of members of Congress that incited and planned the January 6th attack on the United States Capitol.
Two of the people behind organizing the January 6th attack specifically mentioned working with these Members of Congress or their top staffers:
Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL)
Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ)
Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ)
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO)
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA)
Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC)
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX)
Under section 3 of the 14th amendment to the Constitution, anyone who has taken an oath to protect the Constitution is barred from holding public office if they “have engaged in insurrection” against the United States.
We now know firsthand that these sitting members of Congress did just that.
Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, and numerous House Republicans are still in office nearly a year after inciting a deadly insurrection that also threatened the lives of their colleagues.
We must act to hold them accountable under section 3 of the 14th Amendment — and send a message that those who aid and abet an insurrection have no place in Congress.
Join DFA and me as we demand the removal of members of Congress that incited and planned the January 6th attack on the United States Capitol.
Thank you for joining our call for accountability,
Robert Reich
