I try not to spend too much time thinking about the crazy caucus in Congress. They make a lot of noise, cause a lot of media outrage, but don’t get anything done. All they want is attention.

But this not-so-subtle threat from Marjorie Taylor Greene – yes, of Jewish space laser infamy – caught my attention. Take a look:

First off, if the idea of Marjorie Taylor Greene making legislative decisions in Congress sounds as ridiculous to you as it does to me, I’m asking that you pitch in $3 or whatever amount works for you right now. We can’t allow these dangerous kooks to become the Majority in Congress. We just can’t.

Look, she continues to peddle Trump’s false statements on Russia and that country’s effort to elect him in 2016. Don’t forget, Trump’s own campaign manager was secretly meeting with Russian intelligence and giving them the campaign’s internal polling data — while Russian intelligence was running a social media campaign to elect him!

Greene would love to kick me and other Democrats she dislikes off our committees for doing our jobs and investigating Trump’s corruption. She wants to use the power of Congress to attack us personally and potentially financially. And in Trump’s Republican Party, that agenda will be the House Majority’s agenda if we’re not careful.

Why? Because Greene, Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan and the rest will vote to make Kevin McCarthy the Speaker of the House. And McCarthy will do Trump’s bidding, rolling out the red carpet for a second Trump term.

That could very well be the end of our democracy. And we can’t let that happen.
