The NC GOP yet again drew district lines to favor Republicans statewide. Let us be clear: This is an attempt to harm our democracy and silence the voices of thousands of North Carolinians.

While other districts became more red under these maps, ours became significantly more blue. This means that NC-14 is one of the only competitive districts in the state, and we have a stronger chance at making Cawthorn a one-term representative.

But we also have to stay very focused on the work that lies ahead.

The reality is that NC-14 remains a red district. And with these new lines, Republicans are going to use this to their advantage to keep seats red and take over the House majority.

In order to win and flip NC-14 blue, we’re going to have to continue putting in the work by organizing and reaching out to voters. Saturday’s Day of Action was just one stop of many to convince voters that Jasmine is the best candidate to lead Western North Carolina forward.

And on Wednesday, Jasmine and our team are heading to Watauga County, which was drawn into the district, to meet with college students and begin building our organizing operation there!

Traveling across the district, knocking on doors, making phone calls, and writing postcards all take significant resources, which is why we’re asking: Will you chip in $14 or more to help give us the resources we need to win in our new district?
