Just after I became Leader of the Labour Party, I remember walking into Labour’s Head Office and immediately being hit by the energy and enthusiasm of our volunteers, our campaign team and our MPs. Everyone was determined to run the campaign of their lives.

But what hit me the most was how determined you all were to help us.

I remember someone told me to take a look at a computer screen — it showed the number of donations rolling in. I was completely overwhelmed by the number of people like you who were giving their support to our movement, and saying with their dollars: ‘I know New Zealand can be better and I want to help’.

Every one of these donations, no matter how small, gave us a boost. It was in that moment that I knew we could do this – you were creating a movement, and 20 months later I still feel privileged to be part of it.

Now we need your support to do it again in 2020. Help us secure a second term for Labour so we can keep working on the long-term issues facing New Zealanders.
