We know these usually arrive the first Thursday of each month. However, we wanted to give you a solid election wrap-up, so we pushed it a few days
. Happy Monday! The O2 Punchlist gives us an opportunity to keep you in the know with both our work and our community. None of this would be possible without your support, so we want to give you the inside scoop every month.
Election season is wrapping up, and the season of giving is just getting started!
Our first municipal election was jam-packed. We proudly endorsed 27 environmental champions, spanning across 15 different cities. Though our involvement was unique in every race, we were honored to work with each incredible candidate as they stepped up and made our issues part of their platform. Without the boldness of these individuals, environmental progress in our state simply wouldn't be possible. To every one of our candidates: thank you.
While there are still some votes to be counted, we feel it's important to recognize these clear victories. We are thrilled to continue working on critical issues with these individuals:
We're still waiting on finalized results in a few more of our races, but now you're as caught up as we are. We always knew we weren't going to win them all, but we are proud of these numbers. Thank you to everyone who followed along, donated, came and knocked doors, and joined us on Election Day for our Call-A-Thon. We couldn't have done this without you!
We're THRILLED to introduce our brand new Policy Director, Eliza Cowie!
Eliza is joining us as a former U.S. congressional staffer with a passion for Utah's air quality and economy. She is a community builder, a former Division I athlete and outdoor adrenaline junkie, and a snack enthusiast.
We're so lucky to have Eliza on onboard as we continue to expand our policy vision and gain a presence up on Capitol Hill!
Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, we are in a position to bring experienced individuals onto our team. This is crucial as we move forward on some of our greatest endeavors yet. Thank you!
For those of you who are new here, we do a biweekly interview series/podcast called O2 & You! Our Executive Director and host, David Garbett, meets with voices from both environmental and political spaces. We've had on some pretty incredible guests over this past year, and we invite you to get caught up! Each episode is presented as a Facebook Live event, but if you're unable to join you can access all episodes on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

It's time you got to know our incredible volunteers. This month, we're spotlighting Sarah and Robbie Stone! They came and knocked doors with us, and Sarah joined us for the Election Day Call-A-Thon!
“As a family, we decided we couldn't wait any longer to do something about climate change. We love Utah too much to let it keep getting polluted. We care too much about our health and our children's health to keep breathing unhealthy air. We believe in the cause of o2 Utah and we want to help get people elected that will make strides toward cleaning up Utah's air.”
We are so lucky to have Sarah and Robbie in our corner!
There are so many different ways to get involved at o2 Utah. Check out our Take Action page to get started!
We're enacting change with bold environmental policy. Each month, we want to keep you updated on our policy development: what we're focussing on, facts to help connect the dots, and progress on o2 Utah policy.
Prosperity 2030 is here!
In case you haven't heard, our first-of-its-kind, Utah-unique plan to tackle the air quality crisis has arrived. We were joined by expert voices and industry leaders at the Utah State Capitol on the morning of October 12th, where GOP sponsor Senator Kirk Cullimore announced the official rollout.
This landmark legislation has one goal with three major programs:
We are lucky to have gained the support of notable signatories: Bryson Garbett, CEO of Garbett Homes; Caroline Gleich, Professional Mountaineer; David Bywater, CEO of Vivint; just to name a few. More people are signing on to join the movement, and we're calling on you to help us spread the word.
Utah's air quality is stealing two years off of our lives and $2 billion dollars from our otherwise thriving economy. Utahns take care of each other—this is why people can't help but flock to our beehive state to grow their businesses and raise their families. However, as our air turns brown and continues to choke us, businesses and families will have no choice but to leave. We must pass Prosperity 2030, for our economy and our kids.
Visit the website, like the Facebook page, follow the Instagram and Twitter, and invite your friends and family to do the same. We can't pull this off without you!
If your last year and a half was anything like ours, you blew through just about every show, book, podcast, and playlist—leaving you searching for something new. Worry not, we've got you! Every month, you can look forward to recommendations for listening, watching, and reading from our team.
