The U.S. can no longer be complicit, demand U.S. officials act NOW

Dear Email,

Associated Press just reported that a few days before criminalizing six Palestinian civil rights groups, Israel was caught red-handed utilizing Pegasus spyware to hack and spy on these organizations. Frontline Defenders also released a report independently peer-reviewed and confirmed by Amnesty International and the University of Toronto Citizen Lab titled “Six Palestinian human rights defenders hacked with NSO Group’s Pegasus Spyware.”

Besides the attempt to deter them from documenting the Israeli government's violent and oppressive regime against Palestinians, we now know that the designation of these six human rights organizations was also an effort to cover up Israel’s use of notorious spyware.

Click here to contact the White House and Congress now. Demand that our government investigates these allegations and ensure no US tax dollars contributed to Israel’s latest scandal.

On October 24, 2021, the University of Toronto Citizen Lab reported that New York Times journalist Ben Hubbard was targeted by the same spyware from June 2018 to June 2021. And on November 3, 2021, the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) added two Israeli entities, NSO Group and Candiru, to the Entity List for engaging in activities that are contrary to the national security or foreign policy interests of the United States. They were listed based on evidence that they developed and supplied spyware to foreign governments that used these tools to maliciously target government officials, journalists, business people, activists, academics, and embassy workers.

While the Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Securities (BIS) sanctioning NSO Group, an Israeli technology company that developed Pegasus Spyware, is an incredibly vital step, U.S. officials must do more to hold the state of Israel accountable.

Click HERE to contact the White House and Congress now. Tell your member of Congress to support House Res. 751, Rep. McCollum's resolution condemning the repressive designation by the Government of Israel of six prominent Palestinian human rights and civil society groups as terrorist organizations, and ask your Senator to introduce a companion resolution in the Senate HERE, now.

Aside from utilizing spyware on Palestinians, including at least one Palestinian-American, Israel issued military orders against all six organizations yesterday, allowing the IDF free reign to enter the West Bank and target individuals, close the offices of these organizations, make unlawful arrests, and more. Israel is actively striving to evade all forms of accountability for its atrocities by attacking Palestinian organizations and individuals and doing everything possible to suppress the true nature of the Israeli government and the horrors it endlessly commits.

Israel is nothing more than another abusive government that licenses and utilizes spyware to hack dissidents and human rights defenders. Our message is loud and clear: not another nickel, not another dime, no more money for Israel’s crimes!

Contact the White House, your Senators, and your Representatives now using our advocacy tool and urge them to hold Israel accountable and investigate these explosive revelations now. For more information and actions, use our social media toolkit.

Thank you for taking action for Palestine.

Sincerely,

Ayah Ziyadeh
