"Not being able to do the things that you use to. The constant fear of recurrence and feeling isolated when you're surrounded with people that think it's over. It's never over."

This comment came to us on Facebook, when we asked about feelings of loss after a breast cancer diagnosis. October, and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, is almost over, but we know that for people with a history of breast cancer, it's never over.

Survivorship starts at the moment of cancer diagnosis and continues throughout the rest of a person's life. A person may experience long-term physical and emotional side effects. And someone with metastatic breast cancer will be in treatment for the rest of their life.

No one should ever feel isolated or alone.

Breastcancer.org's thriving online community - over 200,000 members from all over the world - is a safe environment where people share honest, even painful, stories of their diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship - the "what comes next" part. They discuss care choices, comfort one another through the best and worst of times, and build relationships that matter.

Ann Marie, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 says, "I don't know what I would have done without Breastcancer.org seven years ago. And I don't know what I would do without Breastcancer.org today. For myself and for all of my fellow breast
cancer patients out there, thank you!"

People living with a history of breast cancer need information and peer support every day of the year, not just during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And with your help, that's what Breastcancer.org provides.
