Friend: Only in America is a story like mine possible.
You see, I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth – not even close. I grew up in public housing on the west side of Savannah, Georgia. I had 11 brothers and sisters – and while my family might have been short on money, we were long on love and faith.
My parents raised us kids to work hard and believe that we could do anything we put our minds to. Thanks to their support, I was the first in my family to earn a college degree and later became the senior pastor at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s church. Now, thanks to this grassroots team, I'm fighting in the Senate to make sure every child can achieve their American dream.
But I'll be honest: With polls showing me neck and neck with Trump and McConnell's handpicked candidate, the only way I can defend Georgia's Democratic Senate seat and win our critical fight for justice is with your help. So I'm personally asking, friend: Will you chip in $5 or more now so we can win in Georgia, defend our razor-thin Senate majority and build a better, brighter future for our country?

Thank you, friend. Your support in this fight means the world to me.
