Dear John --

Today I launched our Social Services policy discussion document in Christchurch.

Social welfare should be a hand-up, not a hand-out. We’re proposing measures that respond to the diverse needs of New Zealanders, whether they’re new parents, those looking for work, vulnerable children or struggling to find a place to live.

Under Labour, 22,000 more people are on the dole, the state housing wait-list has doubled and 7 out of 9 child poverty indicators are worse.

It’s clear Labour just isn’t working for Kiwis.

Our plan will focus on reintroducing the transformative Social Investment approach, and providing tailored, targeted solutions to the social and economic challenges Kiwis face. That’s because people should be in the driver’s seat of their own lives, keeping more of what they earn because we know families know their own needs best.

The next general election is less than 12 months away, and we need your support to deliver the strongest campaign we can. Can we count on your support?

Thousands of Kiwis, like you, have chipped into our annual President’s Appeal Fighting Fund so far, because they support our values, and know that we are going to have to fight hard to win in 2020.

Your personal support will ensure the strength of our campaign is unmatched. Can you chip in to help our campaign?

John, we need your support to get New Zealand back on track. Kiwis deserve a Government that delivers results for them and their families. Under National's leadership, our bottom line is YOU.

Please support our 2019 President’s Fighting Fund Appeal, and together we’ll win the 2020 Election and re-build a more prosperous and ambitious New Zealand.

Regards

Simon Bridges
National Party Leader
