To all pro-life activists,

I'm appealing today to concerned citizens to support our vital pro-life advocacy and education efforts with a possible post-Roe world in view. Your gift of $25, $50, $100 or even more, as the Lord leads, will help us change hearts and minds – and votes – so we can someday soon relegate abortion to the dustbin of history.

Speaking of history: do you remember where you were on 9/11/01? Everyone over 30 seems to have a “when I heard the news” story. What makes it one of my most enduring memories, is the way it galvanized and united the nation

The overwhelming loss of life and the astonishing images of skyscrapers falling shook America. It drove atheists and twice-a-year churchgoers to their knees in prayer, filling sanctuaries on a Tuesday night. Later, at least for a while, it provoked an unprecedented rise in patriotism, resiliency and unity.

I can’t help but wonder if that kind of unity and resiliency could be possible again – not in response to acts of terrorism and waning over time, but a sustained response to an everyday tragedy that has taken millions of livesOf course I’m talking about abortion. An estimated 63 million lives have been lost to abortion in the U.S. in the 48 years since Roe v. Wade. But at the same time, the pro-life message is gaining traction at the grassroots and at the Supreme Court like we've never seen before.

We are committed to moving the ball forward in the Minnesota legislature and, as I explained last month, taking concrete steps to effect outcomes in the courts. And we need your help!

There’s plenty of reason for optimism right now. Check out abort73.com to see how the number of abortions is decreasing and the survey results from Florida that blow the lid off the argument that abortion is about women’s health.

Last month we told you about the upcoming Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case, but there’s also a landmark new law in Texas that could be a game-changer. The U.S. Supreme Court denied an appeal to block the law, and legislators in several other states, including Florida, have introduced bills that are modeled after it.

While the tide is turning nationally, we have a challenging legal and political landscape here in Minnesota. The legal landscape was shaped by Doe vs. Gomez, a 1995 case in which the Minnesota Supreme Court conjured up a constitutional right to abortion on demand. You can read about its devastating effects in this excellent article from our allies at Minnesota Concerned Citizens for Life. Despite this dark precedent, we have a plan. Keep reading to learn more!

Overturning this disastrous decision requires reshaping the court, which will only be possible if we elect a pro-life governor, or pro-life majorities in both houses of the legislature.

The bottom line is that there’s a lot at stake one year from now, and while that may seem a long way off, it isn’t. The work starts now.

Minnesotans need to know what’s at stake. Independent voters need to be convinced that the left’s failed policies have run their course, and what we need now is fresh leadership, governed by biblical principles to protect the most vulnerable.

Mid-terms are usually not favorable to the party holding the White House, and the president’s missteps in Afghanistan, on the southern border, and with the national debt will likely drive turn-out among conservatives and disaffected moderates across the nation, and especially here in Minnesota where voters will treat the election as a referendum on Governor Walz’s mishandling of pandemic lockdowns and the House’s complicity in that massive government overreach

Do you believe that change is not just possible, but imminent?! I do! I believe it even more strongly because of the decisive victories for life, family, and religious freedom. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. If Virginia can elect a pro-life Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and majority in the legislature, then we in Minnesota can too!

Let’s pray in that direction, while working hard with what the Lord has given us to make it so. Will you be part of His divine provision with a gift of $25, $50, $100 or even more, as He leadsYour generous support of Minnesota Family Council is the reason why we exist and is responsible for every pro-life victory we’ve been a part of over the past four decades.

Thank you!

P.S. Make sure to preregister now for our Minnesota Leadership Forum on December 15th with leading candidates for Governor of Minnesota, moderated by award-winning broadcaster Hugh Hewitt.
