Friend, Hurricane Ida hit close to home, with too many homes and businesses in our community destroyed. Although FEMA is on the ground and federal disaster aid is available, it's been hard to watch. 

We know that Hurricane Ida isn't an isolated event. All across the country, extreme weather – droughts, floods, forest fires, heat waves – has affected up to two-thirds of Americans. This is climate change in action – and if we aren't vigilant today, things will only get worse. 

To fight to prevent more destruction, I'm heading to Glasgow, Scotland, to take  part in meetings and proceedings at the U.N. Climate Change Conference. As your representative, I firmly believe it's vital that we listen to the science and make data-driven decisions to keep citizens safe and thriving in the decades to come.

But while I'm dedicating time and energy to adapt our policies to the realities of climate change, too many Republicans continue to look the other way – despite the unanimous scientific consensus that human-caused climate change is 100% real and urgent. That's why I'd like to hear from you today, friend. Please, before our live poll closes at midnight, tell me:
