When I first ran for Senate, I made a promise: If elected, I would listen to Arizonans, hear their concerns, and fight tirelessly for them in the Senate.

And what I’ve heard from people across our state is they want us to set aside our partisan differences to invest in Arizona - and the country - and create good-paying jobs.

The bipartisan infrastructure bill that passed Friday night does that. It will bring good-paying jobs to the state and across the country. It will fix our roads and bridges, expand high-speed internet, upgrade our ports of entry, make us more resilient to wildfires, and improve our water infrastructure.

I am proud to be one of the members of the bipartisan group that got this done. This is a major piece of legislation, and it’s important you know some of what’s included in the bill:

$5 billion for Arizona to rebuild our roads and an additional $225 million for bridge replacement and repair.

$100 million for Arizona to expand high-speed internet access.

More than $500 million for Arizona’s ports of entry.

And it includes critical investments for drinking and wastewater infrastructure, repairing aging dams in Arizona, public transportation, airports, wildfire management, increasing firefighter pay, woodland fire prevention, and more.

This is a bill we can all be proud of. It will do a lot of good for our state and for our country. I thought it important to write to you directly about what the legislation means.
