At the end of this email, I’m going to ask if you can make a grassroots contribution to our campaign before Thursday’s end-of-month fundraising deadline. But before I do, I hope you’ll give me a chance to explain why deadlines like this one are important.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has made a career out of blocking just about every progressive bill that comes his way and turning the Senate into a legislative graveyard. In fact, he calls himself the Grim Reaper!

Instead of doing right by the American people, McConnell has continued his work to rip health care away from millions of Americans, rush through Trump’s right-wing judges to the bench, and stall meaningful action on the climate crisis. He has no shame.

If Democrats don’t take back the Senate in 2020, McConnell is going to continue being the Grim Reaper of the Senate — no matter who gets hurt along the way.

The health and safety of our families, our community, and our environment are all at stake in this election. If we don’t start building the resources we need to flip the Senate from red to blue next year, then we don’t stand a chance at winning and ending McConnell’s stranglehold on our democracy.

That’s where you come in, friend. I need help from grassroots supporters like you to ensure Democrats have what it takes to put up a good fight and send Republicans like McConnell packing next year.

So, I’m asking: will you pitch in $10 or whatever you can afford before Thursday’s end-of-month deadline? I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important.
