Celebrating caregivers on the front lines of the fight against
Alzheimer's

Dear John,

November is National Family Caregivers
Month. This special month in which we celebrate Thanksgiving is the
perfect time to thank and honor the more than 11 million caregivers in
the United States who generously dedicate their time to caring for
those living with Alzheimer's or another dementia.

It's estimated that Alzheimer's
caregivers provide 15.3 billion hours of care and support each year,
valued at an incredible $257 billion. But in my eyes, and the eyes of
the family members or friends they care for, their work is priceless.
These people are critical, and we must never underestimate the
strength and steadfast support they give even through the most
daunting and heartbreaking moments.

And we're here to help:

* If you know a caregiver, please tell them the Alzheimer's
Association offers many educational programs and support groups
- many of which moved online during the pandemic -
allowing caregivers to connect with a network of support anytime
they need it.

* Many caregivers are likely to face challenges in their own
physical and mental health, and they possibly face financial
challenges as well. We provide care planning services, through
our free 24/7 helpline

(800.272.3900) and via other resources, like Alzheimer's
Navigator, that give caregivers the advice and information they
need to keep themselves strong and healthy, both physically and
emotionally.

* Our free trainings and workshops are also available to help teach
practical skills.

We honor the caregivers who are at the
very core of our community. For them, we press forward in our fight
guided by our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other
dementia - by accelerating global research, driving risk
reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and
support.

Thank you for joining with us to honor caregivers during
National Family Caregivers Month. If you know a caregiver, please let
them know how much you appreciate them and their dedication. I hope
you know how much we appreciate your partnership in our vital work.

With sincere gratitude,

Donna McCullough
