John —
One year ago, voters elected Joe Biden to the White House and gave Democrats majorities in both houses of Congress in order to deliver on the full agenda they promised on the campaign trail: bold investments to address the needs of working families as well as investments in physical infrastructure.
Late last night, Congress passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, one small piece of this agenda.
For months, Working Families Party champions in Congress have fought steadfastly to make sure both parts of the full Democratic agenda moved together — and to make sure working people in this country were not left behind.
We are deeply grateful to Rep. Pramila Jayapal and the Congressional Progressive Caucus, who held the line for weeks and forced corporate Democrat obstructionists in Congress to make a public commitment to actually pass the Build Back Better Act within the next two weeks.
And we are grateful to Representatives Rashida Tlaib, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman, and Ilhan Omar for their courageous insistence that the infrastructure bill and Build Back Better Act advance together. A true recovery requires transformative investments in our infrastructure and our communities.
The big picture here is clear:
We may have slim Democratic majorities in Congress right now, but we do not yet have a Working Families majority in either chamber. That needs to change — and it starts with defending our WFP champions while working to grow their ranks in Congress in the midterms next year.
We’ve got big plans in 2022, but we know how hard this work will be. Make a contribution to our Working Families Majority Fund to help us defend the WFP champions in Congress who have stood up so courageously this year and elect even more candidates who will represent working people with this same fierce determination.

We need to keep the pressure on corporate Democrats to ensure they don’t further weaken the bill or delay passage over the next few weeks.
We need to keep fighting for our full agenda in Congress throughout 2022.
And then we need to do all we can to elect more members of Congress next year who will answer to voters and not corporate lobbyists.
That’s how we will build towards the type of Working Families majorities we need in Congress to transform this country into one that works for all of us. We're so grateful to have you by our side in this fight.
In solidarity,
Working Families Party
