Team,

Last night, the House passed bipartisan legislation making the most significant investment in American infrastructure since we built the interstate highway system. I was proud to be a member of the bipartisan Senate infrastructure working group that negotiated and drafted this major package.

This is a major win for Nevada and the American people. It will create good-paying jobs and rebuild our crumbling infrastructure, allowing us to better compete in the 21st century economy.

I’m especially proud of the sections of the bill I helped write, and I want to tell you a bit more about what we accomplished together:

- Investing in broadband access: I helped draft sections that will bring high-speed internet access to rural, Tribal and other underserved communities and make internet access more affordable.
- Improving our airports: I fought to secure funding for airport expansion, upgrade and repair projects.
- Strengthening cybersecurity: I worked to include measures that will protect our electric grid and power systems from cyberattacks.
- Boosting tourism: I helped make sure investments in infrastructure will be directed to help revive travel and tourism in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

When I ran for Senate, I promised to work across the aisle to deliver real solutions and get results. These measures and other critical investments in the bill will make a big difference for Nevadans. But we’re also not done yet.

Next, Congress needs to pass the Build Back Better agenda to keep making progress for the American people. I’m fighting for a final budget plan that includes strong action on climate change, funds for wildfire and drought relief, comprehensive immigration reform, affordable child care, paid family leave, universal pre-K, and more.
