John —

I wanted to send my heartfelt thanks to everyone who signed the card my team sent out yesterday for Brittany and me. It truly means the world to receive your well wishes.

Our family is of course overjoyed, but as anyone who has cared for a newborn knows, we are also exhausted . Not only are Brittany and I caring for baby Hank, but we’re also keeping up with our other two, Cricket and Nelson.

This week has been a very personal reminder of how absolutely critical paid family leave is. It’s why I’m proud to fight for paid leave provisions alongside my Democratic House colleagues as part of our promise to Build Back Better.

The United States is one of just a handful of countries without any form of paid family leave, and we are the only wealthy country in the entire world that does not offer it. Especially now, when the pandemic has severely limited child care options and forced women in particular out of the workforce to care for their loved ones, it is essential that the United States join the rest of the world in adopting paid family leave policies.

If you agree, I hope you’ll support the efforts of myself and my Democratic colleagues in the House. We’re fighting for paid family leave because it is personal: to us, to our families, and to our districts. You can support our work by making a contribution to protect our House majority today. >> [[link removed]]
