Friend,
The reality is hard to hear: Nearly 2.3 million children under the age of 5 in Yemen are suffering from acute malnutrition. 400,000 of those children are severely malnourished and are at imminent risk of death if they don’t receive urgent treatment.
One-year old Ghosson is among the many children who’ve required treatment after falling ill as a result of severe acute malnutrition. Worried about her worsening condition and weight of just 11 pounds, Ghosson's family brought her to a UNICEF-supported hospital in Yemen, where she received treatment and was nursed back to health. |

Ghosson’s story of recovery is incredible, but unfortunately it’s not the norm. Factors like economic insecurity, displacement from conflict, widespread poverty and limited access to care during the pandemic make it difficult for families and children to get help.
Give before 10/25 and your gift will be 10X MATCHED to help put an end to preventable deaths and ensure that children like Ghosson have access to nutritional support.
Humanitarian needs are increasing in Yemen and in other countries suffering from nutrition crises. UNICEF has the programs and expertise to treat and prevent malnutrition and we're ready to deliver lifesaving care to the children of Yemen — but your support is a big part of making this possible. Can you help us?
