John — we’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: We won’t stand for partisan, gerrymandered redistricting in North Carolina.

Right now, Republicans are pushing through maps that would GUARANTEE them control of 70% of our congressional seats — despite the fact that our state was split nearly 50/50 in last year’s presidential election.

This plan doesn’t represent North Carolina, John — but more than that, they ensure that we’re headed for yet more court battles over our state’s legislative maps.

Democrats and our allies have taken the GOP to court three times in the last decade because of their partisan, unconstitutional gerrymandering, and they lost every single case. We will ALWAYS stand up for North Carolinians’ right to elect their own representatives — rather than have elected officials choose their voters.

You’d think they might have learned from their mistakes.

Look, we’ll fight these battles all over again over our new maps if we have to, but it would better serve the interests of hardworking North Carolinians if the GOP would just work with us to deliver fair maps in the first place.
