On *Monday [ [link removed] ]*,?Lt. Governor Jon Husted visited Global Lynx Inc. in Columbus for a roundtable discussion with Individual Microcredential Assistance Program (IMAP) participants. The program helps Ohioans who are low income, partially unemployed, or totally unemployed participate in a training program to receive a credential at no cost.
?IMAP helps individuals earn new skills that will lead to a career with more job security and higher pay, while at the same time providing Ohio businesses access to the new talent they need to compete,? said Lt. Governor Husted. ?Today, we launched a second round of IMAP in addition to an updated website, making it easier to navigate the program and connect with a training provider to earn a technology-focused credential at no cost.?

On *Tuesday [ [link removed] ]*,?Governor Mike DeWine and First Lady Fran DeWine visited South Charleston and Wilmington, respectively, where they announced the second round of Ohio BUILDS [ [link removed] ] water infrastructure grants.?
Last week [ [link removed] ], grants totaling more than $93 million were announced for infrastructure projects impacting 60 counties. Tuesday's announcement included projects in the 28 Ohio counties that did not receive funding in the first round.?
"It's astonishing to me that there are communities in Ohio today where it's difficult to get clean water. For our people to thrive and for our communities to grow, clean water and reliable infrastructure are an absolute must," said Governor DeWine. "There is a tremendous need for water infrastructure upgrades all over our state, and through Ohio BUILDS, we're funding projects that will be life-changing in some communities."?
A third round of grant recipients will be announced in the future.

COVID-19 Press Conference 11042021
On *Thursday [ [link removed] ]*, Governor DeWine updated Ohioans about his recent COVID-19 exposure. The Governor cancelled public events through Sunday after he and First Lady Fran DeWine were exposed to COVID-19 by staff members who tested positive. Governor and Mrs. DeWine have tested negative for COVID-19 and will continue to test while monitoring for any symptoms.
*AGES 5 TO 11 PEDIATRIC VACCINATIONS
*More than 850 Ohio kids ages 5-11 have received the COVID-19 vaccine since the CDC and the FDA gave final authorization of the pediatric dose earlier this week.
Children may be vaccinated at many different types of providers, including local health departments, pediatricians, family physicians, community health centers, adult and children?s hospitals, and pharmacies. Parents should contact their provider to learn about vaccination opportunities or they can visit?gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov [ [link removed] ]?to find a provider or make an appointment.?

*VAX-2-SCHOOL UPDATE
*The Ohio Vax-2-School program has expanded to include younger Ohioans with this new authorization. Ohioans aged 5-25, or their parents or guardians, can enter online at?ohiovax2school.com [ [link removed] ]?once they have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The program will award $2 million in scholarships, including 150 $10,000 scholarships and five $100,000 grand prize scholarships that can be used at an Ohio college, university, or career training opportunity.
The initial registration deadline is Sunday, Nov. 21. Full registration dates, rules, and information, as well as the registration portals, are available online at?www.ohiovax2school.com [ [link removed] ].
*DEATHS DATA
*The Ohio Department of Health reported that 1,264 Ohioans died of COVID-19 in October. The number may continue to increase as reports are received. To put this in perspective the number of individuals who died of COVID-19 was the sixth highest during the month of October than at any other point in the pandemic.
In October, at least 173 of these deaths occurred amongst people in their 50s. At least 78 of these deaths occurred amongst people in their 40s?and at least 28 of these deaths occurred amongst people in their 30s.?
On average there are more than 41 Ohioans dying each day from COVID.?

On *Friday [ [link removed] ]*, Governor DeWine announced his five appointments to the OneOhio Recovery Foundation board and his two appointments to the Foundation?s expert panel. The Foundation will soon be established to distribute a portion of the settlement funds from the drug manufacturers and distributors of opioids to communities in Ohio.
?Establishing the OneOhio Recovery Foundation is the next step in enhancing Ohio?s prevention, treatment, and recovery support services. The investments made by the Foundation will create an opportunity for local communities to plan for and sustain efforts that address the ever-evolving drug epidemic,? said Governor DeWine. ?There is not one part of the state that hasn?t been impacted by the opioid crisis, and this is critical to beginning the healing process.?
