It is our joy to introduce and welcome Senator Yasmin Trudeau to the Senate!
After Senator Jeannie Darneille’s retirement, Senator Trudeau was appointed the new Senator for Washington’s 27th Legislative District. Following a unanimous vote by the Pierce County Council, Senator Trudeau was sworn in on November 2nd, 2021, by Washington Chief Justice Steven González.
“To me, leadership is representing the interests of your constituents and earning and constantly re-earning the opportunity to represent your community,” Senator Trudeau.
As Legislative Director for the Washington State Attorney General’s Office and through her previous work with the Senate Democratic Caucus and Representative Pramila Jayapal, Senator Trudeau has a strong record of involvement in issues like gun safety, affordable and accessible healthcare, and consumer protection.
We are excited to see what her passion for people and public service will bring to the Senate!
Sincerely,
Team WSDC
PS. Our legislative session is right around the corner when our fundraising ability freezes until next spring. We need your help! Will you chip in $1 once a week until December 11th to help us prepare for 2022?
